Radiesse

Radiesse is composed of microspheres of calcium hydroxylapatite suspended in a gel carrier. These biodegradable microspheres serve as a lattice upon which the body forms a scaffold for tissue infiltration. The spheres degrade slowly over years for a longer-lasting, semi-permanent effect.

Radiesse has a strong safety record and provides correction which compares favorably with other fillers while lasting longer (2 to 3 years!).  The most commonly treated areas are the nasolabial folds and marionette lines.

Dr. Stacy also uses it for filling deep creases between the eyes and on the forehead, as well as for cheek and chin contouring.  While use for lip augmentation is discouraged because of the highly viscous nature of the product, Dr. Stacy effectively uses Radiesse to provide better definition of the lip border and ‘cupid’s bow’.

Radiesse is completely biocompatible, with no need for pretreatment testing. The product does not contain anesthetic so regional block may be used for more sensitive areas of the face.
